Brian Moore selects works for "Drawn to Reading" Graphic Novel Book Club

(5/21/05) Brian has selected four books for the new "Drawn to Reading" graphic novel book club, hosted by the Pollard Memorial Library in Lowell, Massachusetts. The book club will meet one Wednesday a month from June until September, 2005.

"Drawn to Reading" is intended for readers age 14 and older. Registration is limited. For more information, visit the Pollard Library Events Calendar.

[C] - An Online Gallery of Comics and Cartoon Art is a new website dedicated to showcasing high-quality cartooning in all its variety. For its inaugural show, [C] features the work of five artists living in New England - Ariel Bordeaux, Gareth Hinds, Steve Hogan, James Kochalka and Brian Moore. Themes range from autobiography to hallucinatory humor to critiques of comics and commercialism.

[C] is hosted by Evos Arts, an artist-run alternative space in Lowell, Massachusetts. "The New Englanders: Five Artists" was curated by Brian Moore.

"Comics in the Window": Brian C. Moore interviewed in the Lowell Sun

(5/14/2004) Brian was interviewed by Lowell Sun reporter Kathleen Deeley about his large-format comic book serial, "The Big Wheel," featuring characters from his animated web serial Teddy & Anna. Each page of "The Big Wheel" art is ink and marker on paper 4 1/2" feet tall by 3 1/2" feet wide. The story was serialized in the windows of COOL, the Cultural Organization of Lowell, a nonprofit arts advocacy group.

Brian C. Moore's animated short "Commuters" to premiere in One Minute Video Festival

(3/1/2003) Brian's new animated short "Commuters" will have its premiere in the One Minute Video Festival, which is playing at Evos Arts in Lowell Friday, March 7th from 7 pm-11pm.

"Commuters" examines the trials and tribulations of those who take public transport to work, and their relationship with those who have their own vehicles. And, it's set in an alternate universe. All this in under a minute of video!

The One Minute Video Festival is jointly presented by Evos Arts and the Revolving Museum, and will be touring a number of venues across the US. For more information on the Festival and a list of venues, see the Massatucky Films website.
